Impressive, both for the tapestry and the historical research.

This is truly amazing! I have been in the SCA almost 18 years and that was more history than I had learned before!

This is terrific, but do you think you could spell the name of Caid's first princess correctly, "Denysa de las Mariposas" in plate AS IX? Thanks!

Consider talking to Baron Charles O'Connor, who was Principality Herald (Schwarzdrachen) at Drachenwald's founding, and received his pelican for that work. That would be jphughessr@yahoo.com, which probably tells you how I know him ;-) As one of the people who worked on the Great Boke of the Middle Kingdom, I greatly appreciate and celebrate works of grandeur such as this!

Humbly, Your Grace, if memory serves the banner which was created using the original Asian dragon no longer exists. Given that it was believed that there was no extant artwork for Lady Jadwiga to work from, and that there are myriad variants of an asian dragon, I suspect that no particular version would be adequate for everyone who could recall it from personal memory. I believe her decision to reproduce the dragon that Kingdom ultimately settled upon seems (to me) a minor deviation from our history.

I know that Lady Jadwiga went to herculean lengths to solicit input from across the breadth and depth of the Society, emailing and requesting forwarding through many communities specifically to achieve as 'accurate' a picture as one can at this late stage of our history. I know Jadwiga and His Grace Laurelen spoke at the MK 40 year celebration, specifically for information upon the early years of the Midrealm. I also facilitated communication for her with other several senior nobles of other kingdoms for information on their own areas of the Society.

Regrettably, too many of our friends are no longer with us, and many more no longer play or only play rarely, making a replete image difficult to assemble. Of course, no single version of history is likely to satisfy everyone, but any flaws in her work is likely due only to a deficiency of input, not from a lack of effort.

This is certainly an ambitious project but since the panel of the founding of the Middle Kingdom has the wrong dragon and since there is some references made about me and mine that are just not true I must assume the rest is equally flawed.
